Celebration, a 24inch square resin work, expressing the chaos of being reborn. It was originally a fluid work which I painted last year after returning from Spain.
This is why I do repaints, as I heal myself through the art my mindset changes. Now the painting looks much different. It depicts rays of sparkling light rather than an ominous force from the depths of the ocean.
Abstract paintings can have many different meanings to people. One of my favorite things about showing my work in public settings is hearing the interpretations of others. Feedback is important. It helps us grow, and everyone should be aloud to have their own experience with the art. Especially when the work is clearly not subjective- its open to interpretation.
